Summary: Help coordinate and schedule classes for after-school programs with the Principal and Parker Anderson. Be a liaison between Parker Anderson and the school.
Book Fair Coordinator

Summary: Coordinate school-wide book fair; Arrange with Book Fair Company to get books; recruit and supervise volunteers. Requires time before, during, and after the event.
Fall Festival

Summary: Oversee this one-day festival from start to finish; Set-up and oversee committees within the event; Supervise volunteers for various sub-committees. Requires someone who is very organized and detail-oriented. We have broken down the responsibilities to make this event more manageable. Nothing is too big or too scary. Overall Chairperson will coordinate all of the sub-committees.
Fall Festival Sub Committees: Each part is vital to the event
Carnival (Fall Festival): Rents all carnival booths and inflatables, checks our supply of booths and materials needed for space, gets prize tickets and prizes for prize booths. Positions Open: 1-2
Food Sales (Fall Festival): Orders and organizes Food sales for the entire event. Handles food contracts and works with Festival Legal Pack volunteers to make sure all food booths are compliant with LAUSD paperwork. Positions Open: 1-2
Legal Pack (Fall Festival): Works with chairperson and board to make sure all LAUSD paperwork is filed, all permits are granted by Fire Marshall, LAUSD, etc. The packet is available from years prior to reference. This position is ideal for someone with great organizational skills and someone who knows how to follow through. Must be 100% compliant one week prior to the event. Positions Open: 1-2
Silent/Online Auction (In Conjunction with Fall Festival): Set-up a committee to collect and organize items for the silent/online auctions including soliciting potential donors, data entry, and organizing auction items; create a team of volunteers to wrap items, organize set up/tear down of auction items on the day of the Fall Festival and help in distributing items to winners; create a tech committee to do the background work on the smart website for the Online Auction which takes place either concurrently with the Silent Auction OR at a later date. Position requires someone that is motivated and detail-oriented- This event is well supported by the entire parent community through your emails, flyers, and room parent communication. Gala

Summary: Annual Fundraising Event and Honorarium. Supported by a committee that should consist of at least one member of each grade level.
Grant Writing

Summary: Find and apply for grants for our school. There is a lot of money out there but we need to locate it. If you are a writer and want to help the financial end of WHECES, this is the job for you.
Holiday Show Stage

Summary: Coordinate decorating and dismantling the stage for the annual holiday show.
Kinder Welcome and Grades 1-5 (Welcome-Back) Picnic

Summary: Coordinate a welcome picnic for the incoming kindergarten families a week or two prior to the start of school.
Restaurant Night

Summary: Coordinate with local restaurants for a special WHES monthly fundraiser social day/night. Create flyers and distribute copies to classes to advertise the event. Work with Restaurant Managers to collect profits (usually done through email)
School Beautification

Summary: Coordinate school beautification projects and recruit volunteers.
Spring ‘Glow’ Dance/Event

Oversee this wonderful evening event for the whole family. Organize entertainment, decorations, refreshments, and more.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

Summary: Coordinate a week of special treatment and a luncheon for teachers (usually in May). This includes meals, decorations, raffles, prizes, etc.
Yearbook

Summary: Prepare yearbook for the school by coordinating with event chairs for collection of pictures; Arrange for school pictures to be taken all year; Organize sale and distribution of yearbook.
