Alexis Dominguez is an elementary school teacher and mother of two girls, Zoey and Sadie. Her oldest daughter, Zoey, is currently a first grader at WHECES. She is looking forward to bringing her passion for providing children with a rich, well-rounded education to her role as PATT co-president, and she believes a strong supporting community benefits everyone. She sees school as a second home and is honored to support the teachers, staff, students and families of WHECES.
Kristy Martin is a mother of two. Her daughter Abbey graduated from WHECES last year, and her son Ethan will be going into second grade this year. She is looking forward to bringing the WHECES community together to support our students, teachers, and staff. As PATT co-president, she desires everyone to have opportunity to be involved, included, and supported. She believes everyone’s ideas can help to create a dynamic take on this unique year.
Kim Sumner is a full-time teaching professor of English to international students at USC. She is a UCLA alumnus and mom to 2 daughters. Her youngest, Gabriella, is in 2nd grade and the other, Arielle, attends 6th grade at Hale STEAM Magnet but culminated from WHECES in spring 2020. Over the past 5 years Kim has participated in PATT, Governance, and Coffee with the Principal meetings and has regularly volunteered as room parent, chaired the BoxTops for Education committee, and helped out on various school events including the Kinder Welcome and Welcome Back Picnics, Fall Festival, and Teacher Appreciation Week activities. This coming year she’d like to work toward building strong community ties with all our families to make a difference in our children’s education by supporting our teachers, principal and staff, AND our kids!
Chris Sumner is an informational technology professional at Fandango. He is father to two amazing daughters; Gabriella is a 2nd grader this year while Arielle just graduated from WHECES and has moved on to Hale STEAM Magnet for 6th grade. Since becoming a WHECES parent in 2015, Chris has volunteered at numerous school events and is looking forward to encouraging a strong school community as parents, teachers, and administrators work toward building our children’s futures.
Pirai Savarkar is an information technology director at a major insurance company. His daughter Samhita is currently a fourth-grader at WHECES. He is looking forward to bringing his passion for accounting with a master's degree in business administration and a master's degree in engineering to his role as a PATT treasurer. His favorite thing about serving on the school board is serving students first; then supporting teachers and engaging families of WHECES.
Amy Carter is a high school English teacher, wife, and mother of 3 children. Her son Liam is going into third grade and her daughter Grace is starting Kindergarten. She plans to bring her note-taking and editing skills to serve the PATT board and hopes to help parents and teachers navigate this incredibly unique school year in whatever way she can.
