PATT runs on volunteer power…
and there’s a place for everyone to contribute. Whether you're helping out at a single event, leading a committee, or serving as a Room Parent, your time and energy directly support the programs that make WHECES such a special place for our kids to learn and grow. Join anytime—no experience required, just a willingness to pitch in.
Volunteer Members
Are encouraged (but not required) to attend monthly PATT meetings.
Are encouraged to chair events or participate on committees.
Are encouraged to serve as Room Parents.
Are welcome to participate in discussions regarding the programs PATT supports and the events we plan throughout the year.
May join at any time, including new WHECES parents for the 2025-2026 school year.
Committees & Chairs
Looking to take a more active role? Join one of our committees or help lead the charge by chairing an event. It's a great way to connect with other parents and make a direct impact.
LAUSD Volunteer
Whether you're interested in helping out on campus, supporting school events, or volunteering in the classroom, becoming an LAUSD-approved volunteer is the first step.

Are You Interested in Being a Room Parent?
Room parents are essential to making the school year run smoothly. It's a fun, rewarding way to get involved and support both teachers and students!
If you are interested in becoming a Room Parent, please fill out the form below by Monday, August 25th.
Room Parent Responsibilities include:
Attend monthly PATT (Parents and Teachers Together) meetings or send a proxy
Coordinate in-class volunteers
Manage class communication (email/whatsapp)
Organize classroom parties and teacher gifts
Collect class donations for events and gifts
Organize teacher appreciation event and class families maintain the class roster
